The RIFT Roster: Hayley Marshall
10th September 2019
Meet Hayley Marshall, RIFT Business and Culture Manager
How did you get here?
I graduated from University in Ireland in 2013 and landed my first role in HR. Due to redundancy I moved to the UK in 2015 for work and have been here ever since. I have worked in various industries including software, retail, fresh produce and now tax.
Why did you choose RIFT?
It was important for me to find a company that aligned with my own personal values. I believe in always doing the right thing even when no-one is looking, so I chose to join RIFT as we place great value on Integrity. I’m proud to be part of a company that truly lives its values and we hold each other accountable for doing so.
We also have the best people - not that I’m biased!
What do you do day-to-day?
The People Team are responsible for making sure we’ve got the right people in the right place at the right time. We are always looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to join the RIFT family and recruitment is a core part of my role. We’ve recently launched a team of people who get together to make life at RIFT fun. I’m also on hand to support our Managers and Team Leaders to get the best out of their teams.
I work with the RIFT military engagement team to ensure our employees are fully aware of our HR policy and understand how support RIFT will be if they wish to become involved with the military community, such as by being a Reservist or Adult Cadet Volunteer.
Looking to the future we aim to continue to make RIFT the place where people can be the best version of themselves and I am excited to play a key part in this.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
There are a couple of things that make my job rewarding. Contacting a candidate to offer them a role and hearing the excitement in their voices is probably one of the best parts of what I do. It’s so lovely to give someone news that makes them so happy.
I take great pride in helping people who have been away from work due to a disability or long-term health condition get back into work. We’ve recently signed up to be Disability Confident Committed Employer and I’m proud that we really care about our team.
What is the benefit RIFT has found from employing ex-forces staff and our support of the Armed Forces Covenant?
We pride ourselves on having a diverse workforce. Having colleagues on our team who are ex-forces just adds to the diversity. Shaun and Astra are a pleasure to work with and I have learned a lot from them.
By supporting the Armed Forces Covenant we are showing that we welcome ex-forces and are committed to supporting reservists and their families.
Tell us a little about yourself.
Outside of work I love to shop, eat and spend time with my two sons.
If you think you may be due a tax rebate speak to RIFT. We've been claiming tax refunds and tax rebates since 1999, making us the UK's leading experts.
