We’ve got a new tax year rolling over on the 6th of April, so it’s the perfect time to get all your documentation ducks in a row for your next tax refund claim with RIFT. One of the first things you’ll want to do, if you haven’t already, is activate your Personal Tax Account at HMRC.

If you don’t know about Personal Tax Accounts, it’s also a great time to get clued up on them. Simply put, a Personal Tax Account is a way of keeping all your pay and tax information in one place. At a glance, you can check up on all the information the taxman has on you. Better yet, you can link it to RIFT to make claiming your yearly refund quicker and easier than ever. You’ll basically be reserving yourself a spot right at the head of the tax refund queue, meaning:

  • Your claim goes faster, because there won’t be a lot of paperwork flying around between us.
  • It’s hassle-free, because you won’t have to keep running to the Post Office to make sure we’re got all your claim documents and details.
  • Your refund gets bigger, because we’ll have easy access to everything we need to put the most cash back in your pocket.

Activating your PTA isn’t hard. In fact, over 16 million people have done it already. All you need to do is verify your ID on the government website and set a password for security. After that, we'll send you a personal link that will allow us to view your account straight away – and we can get all your tax and income information directly from HMRC.

If you like, we can even guide you through the whole process at a time to suit you. Just give us a quick call on 01233 628648 to arrange a chat and we’ll go step-by-step with you to get it done. You'll need your National Insurance number and a passport, wage slip or P60 for the ID check.

The simple truth about tax rebate claims is that what you get out of them depends very much on the information you put in. The more we know – and the sooner we know it – the better for you at the end of the day. With all the information about your work and expenses at their fingertips, your RIFT Personal Tax Specialist has everything they need to make the very most of your claim.

On top of that, a PTA makes making all your future claims much easier, too. We’ll already have most of the details we need, and will be able to dive straight in as soon as the next tax year ticks over.

It all adds up to less work, stress and hassle for you – and more money in your pocket. There are no paper documents to get lost or delayed in the post and no hunting around for old records. It’s all online and on tap.

It takes under 10 minutes to set your PTA up. You can verify your identity on the Government Gateway Personal Tax Account site via your National Insurance number and a recent payslip, P60 or UK passport. You’ve probably already recently had a P60 from work, detailing the tax you’ve paid via PAYE for the year. Once you've done it, let us know so that we can send you the link.

Talk to RIFT about activating your PTA and linking it to us. We’ll see you at the head of the queue.
