Gary's a plumbing foreman, working for Glasgow based construction and manufacturing business, CCG.  Never having made a tax refund claim before, Gary wasn't sure whether or not he'd qualify.  In fact, the whole process was daunting enough to put him off even looking into it.

Gary first met Robert Parker, one of RIFT’s representatives, on-site at work. It was pretty clear right from their first chat that Gary was probably owed back some cash from HMRC. Robert took a few basic details and got to work on calculating the claim.

All it really takes to make a tax refund claim with RIFT is some information about your work travel and expenses. Armed with the figures we needed, RIFT put together a full claim for Gary and talked him through it. We know that dealing with HMRC can be daunting, particularly if you’ve never had to do it before. Teaming up with RIFT means we take care of everything for you, from working out and filing your refund claim to chasing the taxman for it until it’s paid.

All through the process, Robert kept Gary up-to-date on how things were going. Any time Gary had a question, Robert was there in person or over the phone to help. He also grabbed any additional information he needed to make sure the claim was bulletproof. With Robert on the case, Gary describes his refund claim as one of the easiest things he’s ever done.

At the end of the day, Gary’s refund payout came to a whopping £2,788. That’s all cash that would have been lining the taxman’s pockets otherwise, and Gary’s over the moon about it. RIFT took all the pain out of the process, and gets Gary’s total approval in terms of value for money. He’s recommending us to friends and colleagues, and we’re looking forward to getting even more cash back for him in his next claim.

As for what he’ll do with the money, Gary’s got his eye on a new car – but we suspect his family might have ideas of their own…
