It’s funny the things you miss when you suddenly can’t have them. Most rational people would probably rather chew off their own legs than go through the stress and hassle of hosting a fancy dinner party - but when you're sat eating your dinner alone you start to think about who you'd like to have round.

Now the latest set of rules say we can all meet up to 6 people from different households, as long as it’s outside and at a proper social distance. This is in England, mind. The rules for Scotland say 8 people from 2 different households, while Wales says any number can meet up, but again from only 2 households. This got us thinking about our all-time top socially-distant celebrity guest list. Here’s what we came up with for the 6 people we'd have round. See how it compares with yours:

Beyoncé

From taking the music world by storm from as far back as the late 90s to stepping seamlessly into the worlds of fashion design, Hollywood stardom and more, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has repeatedly demonstrated that she can excel at anything she sets her mind to. She’s in the 100 Women list in the Encyclopædia Britannica - but the party will really get started when the Karoke machine come out.

Robin Williams

When it comes to raw entertainment power, you’d have to go a long way to top Robin Williams. As a comedian, his energy was phenomenal, but there was so much more to his talent than quick-fire impressions and endless volleys of heavy-hitting punchlines. Blockbuster performances in more dramatic films like Good Morning, Vietnam and Dead Poets Society, strange classics from The Fisher King to Night at the Museum and even the legitimate menace of his roles in Insomnia and One Hour Photo all show his true range and versatility.

Judi Dench

We’re getting into legitimate “national treasure” territory here. When Dame Judi first started cropping up in classic British TV shows like A Fine Romance and As Time Goes By, we were already impressed. Whatever role she takes on, she gives it everything she’s got. It doesn’t matter whether she’s reducing James Bond to a sulking schoolboy with a single cutting remark, warning Vin Diesel about the invading Necromonger armada or patiently explaining to the audience that “a cat is not a dog”, you never get less than Full Dench.

Robert Downey-Junior

Whether you remember him from Weird Science back in the 80s, his stint on SNL, his part in Ally McBeal, his character redefining turn as Sherlock Holmes, or as MR Tony Stark himself, RDJ would have some stories to tell and no mistake! Time magazine lists him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. He might even fix your tech while he's round - and he knows The Avengers!

Stephen Fry

If you’ve been paying attention to British TV at all since the mid-80s, you’ve been expecting this name to show up high on our list. Stephen Fry’s a monolith of British culture. He’s a highly accomplished actor, comedian and author - anarchic but erudite, lewd but literary. He’s the raconteur the country needs right now and a top-notch pick for our socially distant party guest list.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

The most electrifying man in all of entertainment, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson has dominated every field, ring and screen he’s ever entered. As an American football player, a professional wrestler, an actor and producer, he’s ended up as one of the planet’s highest-paid entertainers and twice been listed among the top 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine. Personally, we just want to hear him swap Vin Diesel stories with Judi Dench...
