RIFT maintains Gold-level commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
We are incredibly proud to share that RIFT has been re-awarded Gold status under the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme, extending our commitment for another five years.
This recognition means a great deal to us. It reflects years of care, consistency, and genuine belief in supporting those who serve, have served, and the families who stand alongside them. Since signing the Covenant in 2017 and achieving Gold in 2020, our aim has been simple: to make support for the Armed Forces community part of everyday life at RIFT.
Retaining Gold status confirms that this commitment is living, active, and making a difference.
Many people across RIFT have military backgrounds or close family connections to the Armed Forces. That personal understanding runs through everything we do. It shapes how we treat one another, how we build our teams, and how we show up for the wider community.
At RIFT, respect for the Armed Forces is reflected in the way we support our people, the flexibility we offer, and the opportunities we create. Over time, this has helped foster a workplace grounded in trust, teamwork, resilience, and leadership, qualities our military colleagues bring in abundance.
As Rebecca Davies, RIFT Armed Forces Liaison Officer, shares:
“Our Armed Forces Covenant commitment comes from the heart. It is rooted in our people and our values. Having come from a military background myself, I understand just how much skill, adaptability, and perspective service life brings. Retaining Gold status recognises years of action and care, and it is something we are genuinely proud of.”
What Gold looks like day to day at RIFT
Our support for the Armed Forces community is woven into how we operate.
Employees learn about our Covenant commitment during induction and through ongoing training, including the additional support available to reservists and Adult Cadet Volunteers. Colleagues are actively encouraged to explore these paths if they are interested, with clear policies in place to support them.
We also take a thoughtful approach to recruitment. RIFT regularly creates roles well suited to military veterans and promotes opportunities through the Career Transition Partnership and Forces Families Jobs. This helps service leavers and military families access meaningful employment while strengthening our teams with their experience and mindset.
Beyond our own workforce, RIFT has proudly supported The Army Benevolent Fund as a corporate sponsor since 2014, donating more than £300,000 to date. Alongside fundraising, we use our marketing channels to raise awareness of the charity’s work and encourage wider community support.
We also bring people together. Through regular engagement events, RIFT connects local businesses with military units, creating space for conversation, learning, and long-term relationships. Members of our team spend time with other organisations, sharing practical ideas and experiences. Several Kent-based businesses have since gone on to sign the Armed Forces Covenant themselves, something we are especially proud to see.
Supporting our clients and the wider community
RIFT has supported MOD customers since 1999, helping former and serving personnel navigate tax and reclaim what they are owed. Our Covenant commitment sits naturally alongside this work. It reflects our belief in fairness, clarity, and confidence, and our desire to reduce unnecessary stress for people who have already given so much.
Being awarded Gold status again is a proud moment for everyone at RIFT. It is also a responsibility we hold with care. Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant will continue to guide how we grow, who we hire, and how we support the communities around us.
We remain deeply grateful for the trust placed in us and committed to standing alongside the Armed Forces community with warmth, respect, and meaningful action for many years to come.
