RIFT Military Engagement Team​

The team collaborate to ensure we meet the information needs of serving personnel and veterans; RIFT employees wishing to become an Armed Forces Reservist or Adult Cadet Volunteer; and other Kent based businesses who wish to become involved.

•    Armed Forces Tax Refunds – averaging £3,000 for 4-year claims

•    Tax Awareness Events – unit briefings, open days, life skills events

•    RIFT Military Engagement Days – linking businesses and employees with the military, raising awareness of benefits

•    Supporting ABF The Soldiers’ Charity – corporate sponsorship and raising awareness of military charity causes


Shaun Micallef-Green

Shaun joined the Army as a private soldier at the age of 21 and having worked through the ranks was eventually commissioned into the AGC(ETS) as an Officer and teacher.

He directly coordinates and supports the military liaison activity for RIFT, working closely with Astra Fraser, the RIFT Armed Forces Liaison Officer, attending a number of unit events, designed to raise tax awareness within the community.

Astra Fraser

Before RIFT Astra was in the Royal Army Medical Corps, which she’d joined in 1999 as a Combat Medical Technician. Prior to that, she’d been in the TA Princess of Wales Royal Regiment while studying Art and Design at Hastings College.

Kenton Robbins

Kenton is an Armed Forces veteran, having served in the Infantry with 5th Battalion The Rifles,  who were based in Paderborn, Germany. Kenton has worked for a number of software companies, delivering solutions ranging from Telematics/IOT systems to mobile and web apps.

Kenton provides excellent insights for military personnel seeking to transition into technical roles after their careers, including IT.

Hayley Marshall

Hayley is an HR specialist, having worked in people and culture roles in a number of industries since 2013, including software, retail, fresh produce and now tax.  Hayley supports RIFT’s goal in raising awareness amongst Armed Forces veterans and families of the types of roles available at RIFT and matching specific skillsets relevant to them. Hayley also advises RIFT employees who wish to engage with the military as Reservists or Adult Cadet Volunteers, ensuring they benefit from the additional measures provided by RIFT to support them.

Matt Solly

Matt has worked in a variety of roles at RIFT, and is now a personal tax consultant. He is highly supportive of the military community, and has participated in a series of events, including engagement days both at military locations and at RIFT; the Sandhurst Leadership Challenge and Military Open Days.
