JIB members also benefit from health care benefits, employment advice, a pension scheme and other benefits including discounted services. RIFT are working with the JIB to offer tax refunds to ECS cardholders.
RIFT Tax Refunds have been working with the JIB since 2012 to let their members know that they could be due a tax refund, even if their employer pays some of their expenses. We’ve already claimed £1,000,000 in refunds for JIB ECS electricians who found out about the potential for a refund through this partnership.
Both PAYE and CIS electricians throughout the country are missing out on tax refunds because they don’t know they can claim or they don’t claim everything that they’re able to. That’s where we come in. By working with the JIB, we're helping ECS cardholders get money back into their pockets and out of the grip of the taxman. ECS members are some of our biggest refunds with one lucky employed electrician getting a whopping £10,798!
JIB Chief Executive, Steve Brawley, is delighted with the results so far:
“The refunds that are being received are fantastic, we’re really pleased that our partnership with RIFT Tax Refunds is proving beneficial to so many.”
What JIB members say about RIFT Tax Refunds
Mark Debono, 29, Benfleet, Essex, got a CIS tax refund of £2,345.78 for a 1 year claim. He said:
“The RIFT flyer came with my new ECS card, I thought I’d give them a try because they were cheaper than my accountant. I called on my lunch break and they called me back the same evening, they even did the forms for me over the phone – I hate paperwork. I went for the RIFT Rapid Refund service so I got my money in just 24 hours instead of waiting 6-8 weeks for the taxman to pay out.”
Colin Bruce, 60, from Kent, got a PAYE refund of £2,760.83 for a 4 year claim. Colin explains:
“The lads in the canteen were talking about how much money RIFT got them back. I didn’t want to miss out so went on to the website and chatted to one of their team online. They took all my details and said I could claim back four years. I’m on a different site every few weeks and I always drive so I got back over £2,700. I’m keeping my RIFT Little Black Log Book up to date this year so I can send it to RIFT next April and wait for my next cheque to come through.”
